WHAT TO LEARN MORE?

Where does it come from?
Espresso martinis were supposedly created in the 80s by a London bartender when a model requested a drink that would “wake her up, and mess her up” — only she didn’t use the word “mess” and was a bit cruder.

Why is it called a martini?
Traditionally, martini cocktails are made with gin and vermouth. Neither of which are found in the classic Espresso Martini, which has a shot of espresso, vodka, coffee liqueur, and sugar shaken until frothy and topped with coffee beans or cocoa powder for that authentic cappuccino finish.
